Period Styles: Arts and Crafts
The arts and crafts movement was at its height from 1880 to 1910. In part it was a reaction to the industrialisation and mechanisation of the time. Hand crafted work was highly valued by men like John Ruskin, William Morris and Edward Burne-Jones and nature and rural scenes formed a large part of the Arts and Crafts ideal.
